Registrant
Transfer
If you no longer require a domain name registrain and choose to
transfer ownership of a domain name to a different party then you
will need to complete a registrant transfer. The process for this
transfer depends on the type of domain name in question. Below
you will find details of the procedure that will need to be followed.
.com/.net/.org Domain Names
If you wish to transfer ownership of a domain name to a different party then
this will require the updating of the Registrant details. This can be done
by 3 Legs Ltd on your behalf. We simply require written authorisation
that you wish to transfer the name on your letterheaded paper. The
letterhead should be the same as the address used to register the domain
name. The authorisation should include the domain name in question, and the
name, address, telephone and email details of the party to whom them name
will be transfered. We will then obtain confirmation from this party that
they wish to accept the name. Once this is done we will update the registrant
details.
.uk Domain Names
Unlike .com/.net/.org domain names 3 Legs Ltd is unable to process a registrant
transfer on your behalf. You as the current registrant will need to deal
directly with Nominet UK as the registrar for UK domain names. The following
web page link has full details of their transfer process. http://www.nic.uk/MakingChangesToYourDomainName/Transfer/
In addition to completing the Nominet UK procedure we require
written authorisation that you wish to transfer the name on your
letterheaded paper. The
letterhead should be the same as the address used to register the domain
name. The authorisation should include the domain name in question, and the
name, address, telephone and email details of the party to whom them name
will be transfered.
