Viruses and Spam

All our current hosting solutions provide full POP3 e-mail accounts. These accounts currently provide no Anti-Virus or Spam filtering. Since these hosting solutions are aimed a business users it is better that you provide AV & Spam filtering at the point of reception. The reason for this policy is to prevent any server based solution we may use to delete or mis-identify an important email as containg a virus or spam.

How can you protect yourself againts viruses?
We would recommend that you install one of the commerical anti-virus products. These products come with a 12 month update subscription to keep the anti-virus protection up to date. Once this period comes to an end you should renew the subscription to keep your system protected.

How to deal with spam?
There are a number of different ways to deal with spam. The first thing that you can do is to use an e-mail application that has built-in spam filtering. Such software includes Mozilla Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Windows Mail and MS Outlook 2003 or higher.

Currently MS Outlook Express & Outlook (Pre 2003) do not include spam filtering. Here you will need to purchase and install spam filtering plug-ins or Anti-Spam software.
